The Wood Bison, brought to life on this pure platinum four coin collectable set, once dominated the western plains. It was a critical source of food and materials for Indigenous communities that virtually collapsed when over-hunting by Europeans decimated bison populations. Conservation efforts have begun to re-establish bison populations, but they remain far below their former million-mark.
